Listen to Your Heart: Winter to Spring SoulCollage® Retreat

Led by Anita Smith Buckwalter

Friday – Sunday, February 23-25, 2018
Monday – Wednesday, February 26-28, 2018

at GilChrist Retreat Center, 56265 Day Rd. Three Rivers, MI

SoulCollage® is an intuitive process of creating many small collages and then giving voice to the images to discover their identity and the wisdom they carry.

It is an imaginative, contemplative way to Listen to your Heart Whispers: the guidance, the challenges and the blessings they offer.

Whether you are new to SoulCollage® or are experienced creating cards, this retreat offers time and space to creatively explore your inner being both individually and with fellow pilgrims.

The benefits of giving voice to the many dimensions of ourselves can include: Increasing self-knowledge, balancing strengths and excesses of our personalities, gentle and profound healing of inner wounds, and discernment of life direction. For people of faith it is another way to pray.

Anita Smith Buckwalter is a spiritual midwife facilitating the increase of self-awareness and mindfulness of the Divine within. She is a licensed SoulCollage® facilitator, a spiritual director and trainer/supervisor. She studied the Enneagram with Helen Palmer and the Michigan Enneagram Center. Through 40 years of pastoral ministry, Anita used art, music, dance and words to enrich worship and create individualized celebrations of life’s transitions. Anita delights in integrating all aspects of her life through the creativity and mystery of the SoulCollage® process.

The cost of $200 includes facilitated programming in the beautiful Windhill and two nights’ lodging in a GilChrist cabin. Participants will check in at 1:00 on the beginning day and depart at 3 p.m. on the concluding day, with the option to extend personal retreat by prior arrangement. Individuals are responsible for their own meals, and each guest space at GilChrist is equipped with a complete kitchen.

The beginners supply pack will be available for an additional $20.00. Other card making supplies will also be available for purchase.

Thousands of free images will be provided.

Contemplation and Joy: A Contemplative Retreat in the Manner of Friends, April 5 – 8, 2018

Join April Allison and Roger Hansen at The Siena Retreat Center, Racine, Wisconsin. The Siena Center, on the Lake Michigan lakefront, will be beautiful as we move into the season of rebirth and growth.

Labyrinth at Siena Retreat CenterApril Allison of Red Cedar Friends Meeting (Quaker) in Lansing, Michigan, and Roger Hansen of the Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Meeting will lead the retreat, which is offered through The School of the Spirit. Although the retreat is offered through a Quaker ministry, participants from all faith communities are welcome.

“…Participants will experience the distinctly Quaker manner of knowing solitude in community. Along with individual silent times for prayer, reflection, time in nature, contemplative interaction with scripture, and meeting one-on-one with retreat leaders, there will also be group silence at meals; ‘active silence’ with participants gathered doing individual handwork, reading, journaling, artwork; and time for contemplative work.”
