The Spiritual Directors Network was founded in 2007 by a small group of spiritual directors committed to supporting one another and serving the broader mid-Michigan community.
From the beginning, SDN has been guided by four core values:
- upholding professional standards in spiritual direction,
- sharing resources among members,
- nurturing supportive relationships with one another, and
- helping those seeking a qualified spiritual director find the right match.
A key part of SDN’s commitment to professional formation is the practice of peer supervision — a regular, structured opportunity for spiritual directors to reflect together on their work, support one another, and continue growing in their craft.
Today SDN gathers three times a year — in fall, winter, and spring — for learning, sharing, and prayer. Membership is open to those with reputable training in spiritual direction who are committed to ongoing formation in the practice.
